How Solar Relay Works

Last updated: 3 July 2026

Summary: Solar Relay is a free lead-generation, verification and matching service. We verify your enquiry, then share it with up to three participating solar providers (or one provider for an exclusive match). Providers contact you directly with their own quotes. You choose whether to accept any of them — you're never obligated. Solar Relay may receive a fee from participating providers; the service is always free for homeowners.

What Solar Relay is (and isn't)

Solar Relay is a solar lead-generation, verification and matching service. We are not a solar installer and we do not enter into your solar installation contract. Any quotation, contract, installation and warranty is between you and the solar provider you choose.

Step 1 — You submit an enquiry

You fill in a short quote-request form with your name, contact number, address, postcode and what you're looking for (solar, battery, or solar plus battery). A Collection Notice is displayed beside every form explaining exactly how your information will be used.

Step 2 — We contact you and verify your enquiry

Solar Relay contacts you to verify your identity, your ownership of (or authority over) the property, and your installation intent. During the verification call — or through a secure second-stage form — we collect only the information relevant to your enquiry, such as:

Photos are collected through secure upload links. We never ask for unnecessary identity documents.

Step 3 — Shared or exclusive matching

Once verified, your enquiry is shared with participating solar providers in one of two ways:

We record whether your lead was shared or exclusive, and which providers received it. Your enquiry is never shared with more than three providers.

Step 4 — Providers contact you directly

The matched providers contact you directly and provide their own quotations. Each quotation, and any contract you sign, is between you and that provider — not Solar Relay.

You choose — no obligation

You decide whether to accept any quotation. You are under no obligation to proceed with any provider, and you can ask us to stop sharing your enquiry or delete your information at any time by emailing info@solarrelay.com.au.

How Solar Relay is paid

Solar Relay may receive a lead or referral fee from participating providers when we share a verified enquiry with them. This is how we keep the service free for homeowners. Provider fees do not change the price a provider quotes you, and we encourage you to compare quotes before deciding.

What we check on participating providers

Before a provider can receive enquiries, Solar Relay checks and records their legal business identity, ABN, relevant state contractor licence, electrical contractor licence, SAA accreditation where applicable, public liability insurance, service postcodes, complaints contact and warranty information. See our Provider Verification Policy for details.

Please note: Solar Relay performs basic credential checks, but homeowners should review the provider's quotation, licence, warranties and reviews before signing.
